The site of a Motel 6 in Pompano Beach could be rezoned to build industrial.

The city’s Development Review Committee on Sept. 21 will consider the application for the 5.76-acre site at 1201 N.W. 31st Ave. It currently has a 126-room hotel, which was built in 1982, and some vacant land.

Pompano Beach Hospitality, managed by Rajiv Parmar in Parkland, bought the site for $5.83 million in 2019. It’s located a block south of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., where it connects with Florida’s Turnpike.

The property owner filed a land-use plan from commercial to industrial. This would permit 652,355 square feet of industrial on the site.
